Dedicated Point-to-point Connectivity
Provide your corporation with a 24-hour-a-day, 7 days-per-week digital connection to the Internet!

A dedicated "point-to-point" line is a full-time connection between two networks that gives your company a direct connection to the Internet. These digital lines are typically designed to carry data traffic speeds of up to 1.544MB (also known as a T1 line). A dedicated line can connect your Local Area Network (LAN) to the Internet allowing access for e-mail and file transfer, and allows your computers -- on your network -- to act as Internet servers.

Unlike modems, which are susceptible to certain telephone company conditions -- such as line noise, dropouts, surges and dips -- digital solutions (like dedicated point-to-point) are conditioned to provide a seamless, clean connection to the Internet. Digital connections are highly preferable to analog connections, especially for corporate connectivity, as they drastically reduce the "lag" and sluggishness typically experienced with analog modems.

The primary difference between a 128K and a 1.544MB line is essentially the amount of data that can flow across the line at any given time. This is referred to as "bandwidth." The more bandwidth you have allocated to your offices, the more data you can send and receive; thus you can have more people online simultaneously than with traditional dial-up connections. Partial T1's are an alternative cost-effective option that can optimize your needs while providing scalability for the growth of your organization.
